This is so sad. My grandad adopted two kids, one from China and one from Africa. They were old enough to know their names, but were renamed and given horribly racist nicknames. Once they became adults they both left and never contacted the family again. I think of them sometimes.

I'm not against the student protests, they were taking the issue seriously and modelling their demands on something that had worked in a different situation (the divestment from South Africa in the '80's). Not sure what your last line is supposed to mean as many of the protesters were Jewish.
Years ago, the West should have started isolating Israel in the way that apartheid S. Africa was isolated through sanctions and boycotts in the 70s and 80s. Ordinary Israelis need to understand that there are consequences if they keep voting extremists into power.
