How come they never seem to wanna ban the Bible, despite the fact the Bible literally tells you "Kill so and so group of people, or God won't love you." Why is it always "ban Catcher in The Rye" or "Ban DND" or "Ban such and such Rock or Rap album." It's never "Ban the Bible" lol...

It's Huaat Tubat's emote! He's a pygmy marmoset and the paladin of our small party. He may be a lil guy but he is a ball of energy (and appetite) 🐒 #art#bskyart#dnd#dndart#dndcharacter#AmanitaAdventures

An emote of Huaat Tubat, pygmy marmoset wearing a thimble for a hat and smiling excitedly before a leafy blue background.

Let’s have some fun! You give a gift to my OC - food, objects, whatever comes to mind - and I’ll draw their reaction to said gift! The featured character this time is Rhys, my wood elf rogue/thief. #originalcharacter#oc#knowmyoc#brart#dnd#givemyocagift

...mostly because the article also talks about how difficult it is to choose a background that doesn't match up with a specific class

Screenshot from the article that reads:

Players should be encouraged to go beyond cliché Dungeons & Dragons character concepts, not just to create different kinds of clichés. Instead of a propensity towards half-orc barbarians, 2024 DnD silos players into making Farmer and Soldier Background barbarians, since those are the Backgrounds that grant both Strength and Constitution as eligible choices for ability score bonuses at level one.

the article does make some decent points about the classism in the noble background that is 100% a fair point if the mechanics are what they say they are aka nobles being inherently smarter than other backgrounds but we still have a hard time totally agreeing... (con't)

Screenshot from the article that reads:

Backgrounds, not species, now dictate specific ability scores a player can increase. This baffles me. Back in 2020, DnD designers read the room with Tasha’s Cauldron of Everything and realized mandating that no half orc can begin with an Intelligence or Charisma above the norm for an adventurer was a bad look. With the 2024 rules, that statement now applies to Backgrounds like Farmer and Sailor.
