Not sure, I never tried the remaster. At least you can still get the original on GOG i think.
Acabei de zerar o Resident Evil 1 clássico com a icônica e maravilhosa Jill Valentine. Já abri uma roupa dela e a submetralhadora infinita da versão de PC, além da Rocket Launcher infinita ao zerar o jogo em menos de três horas e sem salvar. A versão da GOG está impecável!
Estou muito feliz por estar jogando a trilogia clássica de Resident Evil na plataforma GOG! São obras-primas e recomendo demais.

Another exemple is Fallout 4 on steam. On GOG the game is still works well and with mods cause it didn't get the update but on steam Bethesda bricked the game in so many ways and they still haven't fixed it. You very much need the GOG version to play the new huge and acclaimed Fallout London mod.
😭 I have games everywhere! Steam, Twitch, Luna, Ubisoft, Xbox, PSP, GOG, Itch, Epic, etc...
For a simple answer I recommend you try the resident evil 1 remake on switch or playstation and see how deep you want to go down the rabbit hole after. The old games on gog are mostly for nostalgia, they are playstation 1 games on pc. Kinda clunky, ugly, etc.
