Well, that’s one SFF writer whose work I had heard of but am now definitely not reading. There is a plethora of good art out there, an overflowing cornucopia of fictional delight, and why would I choose the words of someone who won’t let others thrive in the self they feel most at peace with?

I have a really hard time about taking random internet opinions way to personally. it's part of the reason I became so self-conscious about my writing. I'd see a negative take about something in writing, realize that I've done that, and my first thought is "this is why I'm a terrible writer."
