I accept these points. Although there is a bit more subtly here. Legal academics sometimes fairly criticise lawyers & judges for not engaging with their works enough. But I don’t think that is sustainable if their writings are inaccessible to lawyers who are not academics. Where I draw the line ...
I only pick up on this because a lot of those names are doing good academically sound work too. But perhaps the gap is a matter of willingness of academics to be known on YT etc?

Yes. That’s very true. The teaching used to bother me as an undergraduate. But to criticise the tutorial / supervision on the basis that it may not be the best idea if the academics aren’t committed to and good at teaching seemed taboo since it supposed to be the jewel in the crown of Oxbridge.
Argh... I bought an academic book which I thought would be very interesting. Fairly expensive because it is an academic book. But it's so badly written it is just infuriating! And this was recommended to me as an interesting book. How do any academics put up with this?!
