The allotment clear up starts. Onions and garlic are going in soon, so it’s chop chop weed until the beds ready. Raspberries still coming in but in much reduced quantity. Odd feeling picking cold fruit
I’m am thanks Mike, starting to feel a bit less ill to so the (sort of) rest has helped. I hope your day is going well and the weather is behaving for you so you can get up to the allotment!
This is exciting - wish we lived closer! There’s a huge waiting list near us Allotment holders wanted for new plots www.bbc.com/news/article...
North East Lincolnshire Council says it has freed up space at sites to help meet demand.
The only stuff we add to our soil is well rotted horse manure (just had a ton delivered), and compost from our bins. We had a dozen fantastic hispi cabbages this year! And are hoping to have Brussels from the allotment on Christmas Day 😍
I’ve inherited a redcurrant, need to learn how to prune it to get the best out of it! There are various rasp canes on the allotment, but none of them seem to fruit much. We have had great success at home by planting quite close to each other (space constraint!), so want to scale up at allotment
I’ve just bought all the raspberry canes for our new allotment raspberry patch from J Parker. I liked all the good reviews, the wide selection of plants (including several AGMs), and they were very good prices (I think) www.jparkers.co.uk
Starting to suspect you don't find Sid James to be a sexy hunk of a man. How are the post-allotment aches today by the way?
Yes mine too from her allotment but somehow managed to my own death for the case!
