In the wake of where to start in Ace Attorney talks again. I still believe the best solution to this problem is for the series to become an anthology. Have 2 or 3 games with a separate cast and then start a new. I feel it's much cleaner than trying to have cake and eat it too.

This is partially why I want to do a Southeast Asian-focused Lovecraftian anthology at some point. It feels like a big fuck you to bigots if we can use the mythology of one of their own for more progressive stories instead.

This was one of my formative books too - from Marks and Spencer’s, no less! The companion fantasy volume ‘Over the Rainbow’ made an even bigger impression on me bitd, and I still have it (and had my boys read it when they were kids). Sadly, lost ‘Beyond the Stars’, somewhere in the years…

The cover of the book ‘Over the Rainbow’, an anthology of excerpts from fantasy novels, with a gorgeous illustration of Frodo and Gollum and other things.

Hello Womble 👋 I've been dipping into the stories in the Gallus anthology and they are brilliant. Today started The Centre by Ayesha Manazir Siddiqi and it's already completely engrossing.

Good noon! I have been reading "The New SF" an anthology of original experimental sci-fi from 1969. An example of the kind of thing is this "poem":

Poem Listing instructions for cleaning a car
Directed full on to the vehicle, this air provides fast safe drying action before the care passes the final bay for drying off by hand.

Also the episode with Nicholas Ball as a late-night radio host - completely not a kids topic, and no kids in the story. Almost as if those 2 scripts were lying around unused from a different anthology series and someone thought "this'll do".
