Esmé and her spoils from yesterday 👗👠😎 (+ a little preview that I did eventually convince the ribbon on her sun hat to hang down nicely)

Photo of a Barbie doll* next to three Barbie accessory packs, in front of a faded floral pink backdrop. The doll is posed as sitting her on knees with her arms in a “ta-da, look at this!” Pose towards the accessories.

Two small accessory packs—one for headbands/glasses/necklaces, one for shoes—sit atop the third, a proper Barbie fashion pack simply known as “Birthday Themed.”

*The Barbie, named “Esmé,” to Mystic, is a hybrid made from the body of “Made to Move Career Tennis Player” (Product Code HKT73) and the head of a lavender-haired mermaid doll (Product Code HRR06). She is wearing the dress and bracelet from the “@BarbieStyle Spring Date” fashion pack and a white crochet sun hat with a decorative purple ribbon.

I added a ribbon to the hat, but a proper photoshoot is still on hold until I can get the tails to lay down. (Currently have them drying with a very light water/glue mixture because plain water dried overnight didn’t cut it.) In other news, I think Hybrid Barbie’s new name will be Esmé! 💜

I’ve been too lazy & the sky too overcast for a proper photo shoot, but I must show you the tiny hat I made Hybrid Barbie (new name TBD). It took far too many attempts to get it the right size for her head because of the yarn I used. 🙃 Could still use a tiny decorative ribbon though…🎀

Not the best photos, but I’m short on natural light—Better pictures will come later! Anyway, I present the first Barbies I’ve bought since roughly 2013 & my first ever doll head-swap! 🥳 Side note: I dunno how people even attempt head-swaps with harder plastic—This was tricky enough as it was 😅

Photo of two Barbies, new in their boxes and laying on Mystic’s bed. On the left is the Barbie known as the “Made to Move Career Tennis Player,” (Product Code HKT73) and on the right is the Barbie known as the “closed-mouth Odile Mermaid.” (Product Code HRR06)
This photo is similar to the previous photo: Both the Tennis Player and Mermaid Barbies are laid on Mystic’s bed, but both dolls have been unboxed and their heads switched: On the left is the Mermaid body with the Tennis Player’s head, and on the right is the Tennis Player body with the Mermaid’s head. The doll on the right is now also wearing the “Spring Date” fashion pack from the BarbieStyle line.

My latest knitting project, from a 1960s pattern. My mum had a whole collection of these patterns, and made me an entire wardrobe 💙🩷 #crafts#dolls#knitwear#barbie#barbiestyle#knittinglove
