Other runners up: Caltrans and Cap Corridor and IIRC maybe the surfliner in Cali (BNSF is one of the less awful to passengers freight railroads) and VPRA's trackage in VA(owned by CSX+NS but with almost all daytime trackage leased to pax operator). Both of which post high and consistent ridership.

I started working at CSX/SeaboardSystem too late to get free rides. Old timers got passes at least for the Antrak trains that ran on SBD tracks.

Rail workers deserve paid sick leave. USDOT and USDOL are right—it's time for CSX, Norfolk Southern and other Class I railroads to guarantee this basic benefit to ALL employees. Ohio's communities depend on healthy, focused workers to keep our railways safe. Let's finish the job!
