the economics for the Family Truckster to be an EV aren't quite there yet, but whatever replaces my commute beater will probably plug in.

William Keegan has been making sense on basic matters of economics for as long as I can remember — often against the conventional wisdom. It’s good to realise that consensus has now — finally — swung round to basic Keynesian common sense. Maybe the government will join us? t.co/TaF2i7STUV

particularly since they don't really make any attempt to hide that the new use will change the economics of the creative industries they are training from in a way Google Books tried to be careful not to

@economics-that-works 10 min (basically all audio, podcast like) Of the points made, quantitative tightening’s only purpose is to inflict higher prices (interest) on the people to butter London’s bottom. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L-DxQX80pnc#ukpol#economics

In the chaos of extreme economic claims by people who don't know about economics, here is a very calm, reasonable, and empathetic interview with the ECB's chief economist on the challenges the European and global economies face. www.youtube.com/watch?v=YPe-...

Neoliberalism: Economics is a science like physics. So, politics and moral considerations have nothing to say about. That’s not the hill I want to stand on

In a low-cost battery and solar world, nuclear still has the problem of having economics that deteriorate with declining load factors, but its product only being of medium to high value in part of the year. So I don't see how nuclear helps much for the seasonal challenge.

"Trained in economics"? That reminds me of a guy back in the rec.games.frp newsgroups who would make economic assertions backed up by "training as an economist." When finally pressed, he had to admit that he had never worked as an economist and in fact dropped out halfway through his bachelors.

Politically speaking what utterly pisses me off is that the Tory candidates seem hell bent on wiping out social gains that took over 100 years, to actually get. I’m not sure what they actually admire in Dickensian times economics nor why. They read Hard Times like Nazis read Mein Kampf.

One example of Dickens's ideal world and two of his darker visions in Phiz's illustrations, which Dickens closely supervised: (a) Christmas Eve at Mr. Wardle's. Two scenes in debtor's prison: (b) Mr. Pickwick sits for his Portrait. (c) The Warden's Room.
