My list lives here: bsky.app/profile/did:... I reflexively follow anyone in earth/geosciences and add them to this list. Some folks on this list don't exclusively post/reply on those topics, some post/reply only on outside topics. It is not a Starter Pack, so you may want to cull to fit your needs.
Right, cuts to greenhouse gas emissions should have already started decades ago, but the delay should be a call to act asap instead of letting procrastination to lead us to the geoengineering delusion. Have lost any idea how big and remote the #Arctic#Climate#Geosciences#PolarExplorers 🌊
If we want to preserve the dwindling ice in the Arctic, cutting our emissions is no longer enough – we also need to use geoengineering to refreeze this precious ecosystem

How did giving my 'Great Books of the Geosciences' students a crash course on biological classification go? Thought it went well, especially once I put on my "biologist hat" (not an actual hat, but a persona). Hopefully they'll be less anxious when reading about Darwin's fossils next week. 🧪
In my 'Great Books of the Geosciences' class today, we'll do a crash course on biological classification before talking more about fossils. Realized my students looked blank on Monday when I said odd words like "Mollusca," "Arthropoda," & "Synpasida," so that'll all change after today. 🧪🎓

Love the concept of this big-picture geology work from @gernon.bsky.social et al. This kind of stuff got me into the geosciences in the first place ❤️
Seems like a really important paper, ICYMI: Waves rippling under continents could explain mysterious plateaus around the world ⚒️🧪 www.science.org/content/arti...
Underground churn from ancient continental breakups can explain highlands in Brazil, India, and South Africa
Not really being critical of you or your work, I think your approach is good for students. I'm more being critical of an internal to geosciences miscommunication/misunderstanding. (Your thread did remind me of this though, didn't quote it to avoid targeting you personally.)
