There were multiple factors, and redistricting was one. Insufficient oppo research, for example, was done on George Santos. Inflation was still high probably energizing Republicans. And the governor and the mayor of NYC were (are) unpopular which likely had an effect on the perception of Dems.

The third half is an arrogance, an inflation of the value of one's thoughts and opinions. We assume that because they're *our* opinions, there's an inherent value in communicating them. There is not. There's actually very little value in a lot of the same thing. That's called market saturation.
