LOK is so much better than people gave it credit for, but it does have writing issues. For Book 1 and 2 Korra in her most desperate moments are given random power ups to solve the ultimate problem. No bending? Boom now you have air bending! No Raava? Well actually you can astral project!

If you watched all of season one and Steven wasn't gelling with you, you're not going to enjoy the rest of the series I don't think. Who knows though? I was really hating on Legend of Korra when it first aired but when I rewatched it like ten years later I thought it was fine.
