#AlphabetChallenge#WeekMforMusic "It's 8 pm. I’m awaiting the concert with great impatience. Will he sing “Suzanne”... just for me? 8:23 pm there he is singing “Dance Me to the End of Love”. I have tears in my eyes. Leonard is on the stage. His voice, his poetry, his music!" (Nov 28, 2012)

For a time, the sea was home to many marine species including belugas, fin whales, bowhead whales and walruses. To this day, the skeletons of these animals are still found near cities like Ottawa and Montreal. The sea also left behind a lot of Leda Clay. 🧵5/10

maybe also because the National Gallery of Canada explicitly used the depiction of monumental scale to blunt public criticism of their purchase of Barnett Newman's 18-ft tall Voice of Fire (1967)

a little white guy in jeans and a white t-shirt looks up in awestruck contemplation at barnett newman's voice of fire, an 18 ft tall painting of one red and two dark blue vertical stripes, which now hangs in the national gallery of canada. newman painted it in 1967 for the us pavilion at the montreal world fair, so it's a newman with a canadian connection, which didn't stop some people from complaining when the national gallery purchased it from newman's widow.
