That all sounds delicious. I cooked a very tasty trout with basmati rice, and am now lying in a hammock in the orchard in perfect autumn sunshine. There is apple and blackberry pie for tea. I’m very happy with all that.
We did get apples from another orchard. I'll be turning some of these into an apple crisp plater today

We went to an apple tasting open day at an orchard just outside Leeds, tested them all methodically for taste texture etc, gave marks out of 10. Alice who was 4 at the time got really bored. "Just put yum!" she snapped and went and sat on a gate and sulked till we'd finished.
I would not set up an apple-picking-orchard-slash-petting-zoo if I did not want this result, personally, but there's a reason they don't let me guard the horses
