This is now with the publishers. @SageEducation have allowed us to edit a book which puts early childhood at the heart of policy. Thinking about what we need for the next 10 years. We can’t wait to share with you the great content from the authors. @PhilippaThomps4 @SwailesRuth
Today so far I have finished editing the manifesto book with @ruthswailes.bsky.social & @PhilippaThomps4. Marked a masters Dissertation, was really good. Now I am about to start my QR funding bid for an EY project. Today is moving, slower than expected but things are happening.
Just had my email to tell me that my abstract and paper has been accepted for the @ey_TACTYC conference. Looking forward to speaking about Retention and Reconceptualising the 3rd teacher in our early years settings. We need these knowledgable colleagues more than ever.
Today thank your early years professional, that includes teachers, nursery workers, childminders and outreach colleagues. Even if you are a colleague, manager, or parent. They truly do amazing things for every child. Recruitment and Retention starts with valuing each other.

We pay more per hour for our dogs to be looked after than we do for our children to be cared for, nurtured and educated. Hourly rate below Dog walker/carer £15 per hour Nursery Professional 8.50-11.80 per hour Parents should be outraged, we all should be outraged at this.
We focus on recruitment in the early years, this is important. But so is retention. My research links to why we need to hold onto qualified ey professionals for those new ey people. I call them the third teacher and have reconceptualised why this matters in the ey workplace.
Two more books on their way to EYs folk. Thanks for the purchase. Love and Nurture in the Early Years. You can buy direct from me or purchase online 👍
