Anyway, reward your players for doing the things you want them to do that makes them have the experiences you want them to experience, rather than following the rules of what actions create what results in the weird simulation in your head.

And, like, sure maybe to maintain the suspension of disbelief, some things should lead to certain other things but first at least question if that has to be true and if breaking it breaks SoD then if you don't want to encourage the action make the result not a reward, or at least not a dominant one.
