I think there's a difference between sitting as an independent and switching parties, would be interested if there were different opinions

I dont think there is as far as the public are concerned. 2019 was a good test case for this, largest number of independents and ppl switching parties EVER. Every single switcher, without exception lost their seats to the incumbent party, every single one.
