Luncheon: we’ve gone posh. Smoked salmon, Nordic slaw, comprising celeriac and cucumber with a cider vinegar, mayo and mustard dressing, accompanied by Mrs.N’s homemade Guinness, seeded, soda bread…buttered.

Great to catch up in person! And apart from our conversation about ecclesiastical music venues, I did feel I was doing a hard sell on music coming out of Leeds which I didn't intend...(other music cities are available)

Site visits today took me through the BATA village at East Tilbury…fascinating from a Town Planning perspective…garden city principles reshaped in Eastern Europe and imported back (and other places around the world) with a 1920’s modernist vibe…

Luncheon and Mrs.N’s been reading the recipes in the Papers. This is her version of leek, potato and chicken soup, with peas, rosemary and chives, with the usual grinds of black pepper and swirls of crème fraiche! Excellent for a damp day like today!
