Right. There was sort of an in-between stage for me, between being in complete denial, to a few years of having thoughts like "well, possibly I'm trans, but I've gotten this far muddling along the way I have; no reason to go thru the trouble of changing," and pushing the thoughts down.
Of course, the prior state of affairs had to basically hit an emotional crisis point for me to have that realization and want to do something about it.
"Dysphoria-based apathy towards transition" is extremely fucking real. I spent years not thinking I was a "real" trans woman cause I could get excited about horny shit as a girl, but felt indifferent about, say, going to to the grocery as one. Transition itself helped cut thru that fog.
That could be pretty damn hot, depending.

Unfortunately the groups did attract a lot of angry, entitled dudes, and now it's metastasized into what it is today. My understanding is she doesn't have anything to do with it anymore.
It's worth nothing that the "incel" label (for all of the implicit in the wording) was originally coined by a bi woman who felt invisible on dating apps because of her weight, and was meant as more of a general support group/forum kinda thing.
