I ended up doing some extra work to change the username field to an email field, which feels much simpler to me, especially if I end up implementing SSO at some point. Customers definitely don't want to remember a username, and there's no need to identify people through it like in social media
I'd forgotten how much Django does for you out of the box. It already brings an authentication system ready to go. All you need to do is link to it on your web pages, and customize the html, and it just works.
Working on MochoArte, my woodworking brand's website. Currently adding a login system, so that customers can add items to their cart and order them. I'm using Django, and implementing the login system was surprisingly easy?! It probably took me only a couple of hours to get it working!
I've been renovating a house for a little over three years and I've managed to do most of the tasks myself!! :)
In that regard: The lists feature is super neat! People sharing lists of their Game Dev friends makes it much easier to find great accounts to follow. Labels are also a nice feature!
I find that I managed to populate my follow list much faster than I did on Twitter or Mastodon, so I actually have interesting content to bring me back!
