Sometimes short-seller reports chime with my priors. (Our kids are banned from using Roblox, probably because weâre pretty cautious/restrictive on what they can do online). This report is a very easy read. Itâll be very interesting to see the companyâs response to the allegations.
Amazing report. Inflating customer numbers, if true, would be very bad. But the points alleged on lax child safety are worse. (My kids are already banned from using Roblox, now for sure)
Indeed. Poor comms management. I was struck by @patrickmaguire.bsky.social (I think it was him who said this) on the Times podcast yesterday saying that announcements had been prevented by Sue Gray as âtoo positiveâ. Even HMT donât spend 4 months pitchrolling, and budgets are the big event for HMT
I think thatâs right. 4 months of pitch-rolling is far too long (especially with dysfunctional communications grid leadership). Other more positive or even neutral narratives have been deliberately squeezed out.
Yes that seems right. Britain got its words from France (closest neighbour and biggest trade route); U.S. from immigrants (e.g. Italian). But why do people get so angry about it? Food culture gets people agitated, I suspect.
Interesting. Tell us more!
Agreed. But food invokes such visceral cultural reactions. Try, for example, as a 30-something year-old man telling your old school friends youâve given up meat for ethical reasons⌠itâs like youâve told them youâve joined a cult.
To add: I live this debate every day with my wife and kids. (âItâs not called an *aubergine*, DadâŚâ). I donât need that on BlueSky too :)
Excellent, intelligent thread on the *real* constraints on Rachel Reeves budget. (Not simply âaargh, any borrowing will bring on another Truss momentâ).
