More people should write their own eulogy's at their funeral. It would make it far more personal and interesting rather than someone re-hashing their life.
I'm not even allowed to write my own gravestone. I wanted "Wish you were here." Vetoed. "Here lies Santa Claus, 1831-20XX." Vetoed. "Here lies Saoirse The Vampire, born 1837, died 1859, 1863, 1891 (three times) 1947, 1973, and (finally, we think) 20XX." Vetoed again. A whole eulogy? Vetoed.
I'd demand it be written and spoken in a snobby posh British accent and they include the lines "whether it be in fluffy white clouds or burning brimstone, I will maybe see you on the other side. Bonne chance."
I struggle writing about myself at the best of times, let alone when I'm at my own funeral
“I was amazing, right. Legend.”
My chap's grandad didn't write his own eulogy but did choose everything else & I'll never forget watching the priest corpse in the crematorium as the opening notes of Happiness by Ken Dodd rang out.
could be like Father Ted's speech when he won Priest of the Year..
It’s hard enough writing a CV and covering letter let alone writing your own eulogy.
