Depends on your particular taste in food stories, but I did very much enjoy Life Ceremony by Sayaka Murata. It's a collection of very short stories, many of them revolve around food, but it's... perhaps leaning towards dsytopian future or alternative realities.
The absolute joy of truly seasonal food. I do love chestnuts!

I've just made my old faithful, never fail, pear cake. It failed. Utterly. I have no idea why. A mix of burned and soggy pears on top of a hideously sweet, dry, burned/undercooked crumbling base. Why? WHY?
