I ponder this dire life I lead. The microcosm of my own turmoil within the macrocosm of societal decay. All is meaningful and meaningless simultaneously, for we are ourselves and everyone. But here we sit, riding ever onwards into the fiery mouth of a volcano we manufactured before we were born.
What else can we do? No matter what, the wheels must turn. For to stop is to destroy all that weâve built. The train moves too quickly to simply hit the brakes, lest we derail. Yet, the track leads only to doom.
It is the contemplative hour. I consider the absurdity that is existence. A world in which we are so far removed from the reality of our situation thanks to an industry built to distract. I read an article about UFO 50. The planet dies slightly more as the data center I connect to churns.
It also easily has more love and passion put into it than many cynical cash grab AAA live service games that have come out over the last decade. Don't get me wrong, it's still an exploitative gacha game, but it's backed by people who clearly care about what they're making.
It's kind of wild to me that many of us hated on mobile games for years, calling them a waste of time that would never compare to consoles and PC, but ZZZ is essentially a homunculus made from parts of *Souls, MGR:R, Bayonetta, TWEWY, and Persona, and it plays remarkably well on my phone.
Youâd know if it was someone you watched. It was RevSaysDesu, though. I put up with it for a while because I agreed with some of his other takes, but it eventually just became blind pandering to a crowd I donât want to be a part of.
Maybe itâs just my Discover feed, but Bluesky really gives me Tumblr-but-itâs-Twitter vibes. And Iâm cool with this, considering I could never figure out how to get involved with the âsocialâ aspects of Tumblr.
This is where considering genocide a separate issue from your own personal/national struggles gets humanity: expanded extermination, terror, refugee crises, ecological catastrophe, & colonisation. Genocide is THE issue. Any other analysis is a damning misdirection.
