Yeah there would still have to be premiums for living in higher risk places but it would be more egalitarian than just shifting all the costs to the taxpayers (who are mostly paying for private insurance themselves) the way we do now
Yeah the devil is in the details. But single payer works for health insurance, I don't get why it couldn't work for home insurance too
I think we need to nationalize house insurance honestly. One big company to spread out the risk and ensure that everybody has access
