âRote learning of the pastâ is an âoutdated mode of teachingâ. Sadly, it is very common in the present, too. In a former life I taught science in SE London, and found practicals (with sound bhvr mgmt) to be engaging for even those harder-to-reach students. More please.

Without adjustments to take account of individual needs/neurodiversity, rigid 'Ready to Learn' behaviour systems can damage relationships & result in vulnerable children missing large numbers of lessons. R2L systems also seem to reduce the need for staff to learn positive bhvr mgmt skills IMO.
