Just re-watched Pulp Fiction for the first time since... '97 maybe? It is astonishing, still full of rampant energy. Also very much a male film. But I think even if it was made today in exactly the same way it would still get a similar amount of plaudits.
9's a tricky age for films, isn't it? Too old for kiddy stuff, happy to soak up 12s, can cope with the occasional 15 if you're relaxed about language, can't cope with the first gore scene in Shaun of the Dead.
