Was looking at newspaper page from 1935 Baltimore Sun (I think?). Right beside the write-up of a bus crash/train wreck was an article abt Hitler & Chamberlain saying, no it all looks ok, don't worry.... Yelling in my head, gaaah! nooo! Staaahp!

Paragraph abt them being mad at not being able to set cultural agenda reinforces my belief: Conservatives want all the freedom so you can't tell them what to do. And want all the freedom so they can tell YOU what to do.

Oh, they know a better future, but that's not their job. Their constituency is business. Regulate guns, you harm the profits of a major constituent. Best explanation I know for Repub behavior: They just don't work for you (the people.) Every policy they have is explained by that 1 sentence.
