I just searched in help, and "modern comments" came up empty. but the search function is so awful, I don't think that's dispositive.

and it is 100% the update (which I had to do because none of my spreadsheets worked anymore unless I updated). because I updated halfway through the process, and that's what caused the change.

oh, I've added like 10 comments for the editor about it, lol

Under "word" --> preferences, there's a track changes menu, but I can't change anything about how the comments display. I loathe microsoft.

I got this earlier. there isn't "options" under file in this version of Word. I tried "properties," but that doesn't have these settings.

if you can't, no worries! I'll try to figure it out. I'm just mostly glad there might be a way to make it work.
