You get over having to pick up after them quite quickly. If you’ve cared for children you’ll manage it.

I created short scenes (300 or 500 words, can’t remember) from prompts for an online course, and so far three of them have ended up in a book… 2 as opening scenes that triggered the rest of the story.

I used to do publishing work with a clinical psychologist who was always saying things would be less intense soon. I told him he was always saying it and he said, “Yeah, but it’s the only way I can cope.” So you’re using a psychologist-approved coping mechanism. 🙂
