Does anybody have a graph of salaries for different research-related jobs over time? eg. professor vs. corporate research scientist vs. DARPA PM (Obviously will differ by field)

The government of California has a pretty well-made website that lets you ... generate a pdf that you need to print and mail in. Nice.

Concretely, Brains is a 13-week, part-time, remote program that helps people execute on ambitious ideas, with a strong focus on case studies, mentorship, and outcomes where participants find a place to execute on those ideas in existing institutions or start their own.  12/

The goal of the Brains Accelerator is to change all this. We want to make leading coordinated research programs a thing that talented, ambitious people can imagine themselves doing in the same way that YCombinator has done for founding a startup.  11/

The skillset’s scarcity and difficulty of assessing who has it also means that it’s incredibly hard for organizations to find great leaders for these ambitious programs. There are only a few ponds to fish in, and they are quickly depleted. 10/

Even when people find themselves running a coordinated research program, they’re often ill-equipped with the skills to succeed. There are few experiences that help develop the unique skillset of technical precision, indirect people coordination, and hustle the role requires. 9/

 But testing ambitious ideas and getting them into the world often requires unusual leaders and consortia.  We need more talented brains going down these third paths.  8/
