Hey #EconSky: Say you want to estimate the effect of exposure to income smoothing platforms on employee outcomes. But let’s say you can only identify whether an employer uses a particular company’s platform, not all platforms. What are your options IF ANY for identifying causal impact of smoothing?

This is a much more doable book.
Specifically dependent competing risks. People are measuring the time it takes until things happen in cases where it is basically impossible to do that. I want to teach people what they can do instead. What many are already doing instead.
So I had started to write a popular science / business book about event history analysis. But the more I work on it, the more I realize it’s too big for one book. It’s an entire CAREER of books. And I think I’m gonna start with a book about the competing risks that most business leaders are ignoring
