I meant detailed but derailed is also relevant

I look forward to your book My Strangely Derailed Knowledge of Police Squad and What It Means for Our Understanding of Stoicism. Perhaps you could do a world tour.

Yes, but they don't, even if you do, which you won't, because they could. So it works. Millers still ground corn for the poor in 1750, though if you believe EP Thompson (and who doesn't?) they did other grinding on the side, because they were mostly moral millers, and their mill could be burnt down

Give me feudalism or my lad not getting back in his flat late at night, and I'll take feudalism any day.

Or £70, if you know a locksmith who believes in the moral economy, which is almost all locksmiths.

My pet theory is that locksmiths are the last vestige of the 18th century moral economy, but without all the paternalism crap. They could charge the earth for emergency entry stuff, given people's situations, but in general they don't. We can build a new moral economy, if we listen to locksmiths

Good news, but Requires Improvement is actually a two word grading. Will all schools now be Requires Improvement? Wouldn't be so bad, tbh.

I'm obviously pleased about the Ofsted grading decision but - and it's not a huge deal - the timing of the midnight embargoed announcement on the day schools go back feels weirdly patronizing pat on the headish.

I missed Oasis first time round as I was living in the highlands of Tanzania where they didn't have radio 1, so I'm not nostalgic blah. But this is what I wrote a couple of years ago about their importance. Also, I think some of their songs are excellently tuneful.

Of course, there is no particular reason that the first movers on this interpretation should be national governments, or the EU commission acting for national governments. A little imagination and organization via some quite well resourced groups could be testing the waters.
