I’ve gotten quite a few new followers recently, and haven’t really introduced my research on Bluesky yet, so figure might be a good time to do a thread on my papers. My day job is as a research administrator in the Oxford Faculty of Law, but I still carry out research in my spare time.

I feel like mass market bird decor usually sticks with the safe subjects of quotidian backyard birds (robin, blue jay, etc) but seeing an evening grosbeak thrown in with this mix on a shower curtain was an exciting surprise! đŸȘ¶

The GOP built a brand on three things: wholesome family values, fiscal responsibility, & keeping rural "real America" alive. You saw them bomb the family values part today. While we're all here, let's talk about how they're failing the fiscal & rural "real America" part too.đŸ§”

I was incredibly psyched to get to write this fun piece about what the hybrid zone between Black-capped & Carolina Chickadees has taught us about how species boundaries blur & change. đŸȘ¶đŸŒŽ www.scientificamerican.com/article/hybr...
