It honestly blows my mind that people are allowed to build homes on slabs in greater Houston at all.

I was puzzled when after Hurricane Katrina they insisted on rebuilding New Orleans exactly as it was before. It’s already below sea level & sinking while the sea is rising.

Isn't it fun how people always feel they need to say these things while folks are digging the dead bodies of their relatives out of the ruins of their homes. Do you think maybe you could lecture people about how this was their fault later.

I'm working on a couple of projects where I have looked at buyouts and flooding. Harris county has been doing pretty good at buying and tearing down vulnerable houses. But a lot more needs to be done.
