its the main reason why serious policy people generally have to be smart, creative, careful, rigorous, thoughtful because holding the whole thing up is conplicated as fuck helping people is pretty simple really: give people what they need
it makes sense once you grock that policymakers arent generally out to improve material conditions for people theyre trying to preserve the status quo *first* its that 'capitalism has rules of the road' line - that something like the wage labor system itself might be the problem is unthinkable
