A lot of complaints about Bluesky amount to people admitting that they have grown so accustomed to algorithms feeding them an endless train of slop that they are completely unable to manage without it
my strat was occasionally* tweeting with multiple keywords that i wanted to see on my feed; worked fairly well, but still would get the conspiracy/maga bs regardless 🥲
I prefer to choose my own slop, thanks.
Every single time I’ve seen someone say this place is boring or an echo chamber or that they get no engagement, I look at their bio and see they barely follow anyone and rarely if ever engage with anyone. I have no idea how people don’t understand that they need to build their feed.
I do not miss the endless stream of truly uninformed opinions on twitter.
Do people really use the For You/Discover/Algorithmic feed instead of just the chronological feed of the people you follow? Twitter/Bluesky have so much attention switching built in, I can't imagine removing the anchor of linear time and tossing strangers into the mix. Absolute chaos.
I don't see the great Jack founder of Twatter & of Bluesky though. I hear he left bsky after a fight and went back to twatter. What was the fight about? Why so cloak n dagger? Bsky is just another data collecting social media co feeding AI 🤗
I see 1 or 2 ppl missing from ur team from the last time I was on biscuit & since the Canadindian joined bsky (to destroy it) The black guy who used to enjoy watching me eat, the guy who went on a cruise, etc Good to see the suit profil pic guy tho, the pope hat guy, & the hawddy CEO 👏😅
I don't know why ppl say Bluesky doesn't have an algo. It says right there on the top of my Home feed that the bsky algorithm is still learning what I like: @glibc.bsky.social@cnn.com@pfrazee.com
I feel like showing up at the other place 8 years ago was like finding a building with a hundred rooms and wandering around discovering things, while this place they're handing you a trowel and some bricks and saying "wanna help us build something?" It's not a bad thing.
