One can condemn the idf and the Israeli government AND Hamas with ease WHILE mourning the dead innocent on every side who didn’t ask for this WHILE not abrogating one’s power analysis AND demanding a better future for everyone in the region (which doesn’t require eliding disproportionate harm)
They had no awareness. Easy not to blame them. But they’re in the business and put zero effort into actually getting to know any of these people and how they are perceived in their states. There’s real stories and real talent in flyover country.

Not hard to program a spell check to search for ableist words or phrases, even for those not in the know. But you gotta have someone in the room who thinks to do this. That they don’t/didn’t is probably the core problem.

You know what’s great. In this country you can have groups of people with competing notions about how the country should be run put those ideas to the people and have them all vote. Let’s not give that up. Might even be good to expand it.
