You shush. The Tigers haven't made the playoffs in a decade and when it happens on the back of a historically bad Chicago team I'm still going to take it.
The Rays went 2-4 against the White Sox this year.
“Flaw in the system” says who…if you don’t wanna be involved in shenanigans just be a good team and this doesn’t mean anything to you
And they balanced the schedules more this season. Far fewer intra-divisional games.
They did get all those Orioles games for years
gee. every division every year has a chance for a big loser like the White Sox. it was our year this year. maybe it was purely the Benetti blessing? and playoffs this way better than in the past when had no chance.
Better lucky than good.
We got swept by the White Sox, in Chicago, in the spring, while we still Randy and crew, and came up what… 4 games short? If we had played in the central, Chicago might not be making history this year.
The Rays are competing?
The flaw in this analysis is that they're removing all of the games against the White Sox. But if they were normal bad instead of historic bad it may only translate into 2-3 more losses for each team. The Tigers went 5-1 against the Rays btw.
