I keep thinking it's something like Tales from the Crypt or The Outer Limits or Twilight Zone. From the bits I can visualize it seems 1970s, definitely in color, so that's what makes me think it's not The Twilight Zone. I always remember all that typed, but never what it's from. Very frustrating.
