recently CP2077 and FF7 Rebirth. Just games that don't do anything. CP is visibly unfinished with a missions and characters constantly coming in and out of the plot. Rebirth is a poor mans Yakuza with more focus on nostalgia bait and shipping than actual plot or character development
I agree but I also think it has been a really long time since anyone stood toe to toe with 3D Mario. Sonic never cut it, Sony mascots keep changing when the studio gets bored of them. Astro is the first time since Jak and Daxter where I feel like Nintendo finally have some healthy competition.
Not surprising since it aligns with SE wanting to reduce their characters images as Playstation Icons. It is silly but Square and bad decisions go hand in hand especially when I've seen a lot of interest in the older games because of Astro.

I think to today's gaming audience anything less than an 85 for a single player game is a "wait for a sale". I've seen people say 89's aren't good! The benchmark for quality is so high now.
