No one knows, but I think it’s better to capitalize if you don’t need to than to not capitalize when you do need to, so Capitalize Everything Just To Be on the Safe Side.

I don’t buy all the AI hype out there, but I am beginning to see ways it could make us more efficient. For example, today I spent 4 hours turning a manuscript into a Powerpoint talk and I bet we will one day be able to have AI convert a paper into a powerpoint within seconds not hours.

Please Share! 📢 I'm recruiting a PhD student for Fall 2025 at UC Berkeley! I'm particularly interested in students interested in early math learning (kindergarten - 3rd grade), working memory, and inequities in early childhood using quantitative methods. Deadline is Dec 3rd!

New research shows teen girls' brains aged more rapidly than boys' during pandemic closures. The researchers chalk it up to social isolation having more of an impact on girls. But I'd bet gendered care responsibilities are driving these differences. 1/ www.nytimes.com/2024/09/09/h...

Neuroimaging found girls experienced cortical thinning far faster than boys did during the first year of Covid lockdowns.

My lab manager Kelsey Sennett posts a weekly research joke on our lab whiteboard and I love these:

If it’s someone you interviewed and liked, it can work. I accepted someone who started at the same time as me & it worked well for both of us because I gave her opportunities I did not have time for (write a chapter). A good student will help get research up and running (win-win for you and them).
