I don’t buy all the AI hype out there, but I am beginning to see ways it could make us more efficient. For example, today I spent 4 hours turning a manuscript into a Powerpoint talk and I bet we will one day be able to have AI convert a paper into a powerpoint within seconds not hours.

If it’s someone you interviewed and liked, it can work. I accepted someone who started at the same time as me & it worked well for both of us because I gave her opportunities I did not have time for (write a chapter). A good student will help get research up and running (win-win for you and them).
