I'm editing a middle-grade fantasy, and about a half hour ago I looked out the window and saw a fox cross the parking lot. Just now the characters in the story encountered a talking fox. Made my morning.

The Wizard of Oz is playing at the local theater Monday night for its 85th anniversary. As a child, I'd wait every year for its showing on TV, back before VCRs. That film went a long way toward opening up the magic and terror and wonder of story for me.

I've been meditating in the morning for almost a year. For editing, it seems to have helped improve concentration, keep intrusive thoughts at bay, be more present in the work. Regular breaks are also a great thing.
