Really stomach-turning to see E. Lily Yu's deeply transphobic substack post, and I encourage my trans siblings, particularly trans fems, not to bother reading any of it. It's nothing we haven't heard before, and it's presented in the same smug, pseudo-intellectual, self-righteous tone as always.
Big thanks to everyone who kept this going. I appreciate you. 🖤
Everybody I know has been fairly blindsided by this, so maybe this is going to ring hollow, but I want trans women entering SFF to know that lots of us are in camp "fuck off, terfs." The transphobes don't speak for us.
I'm cool with him not valuing my work and walking away rather than paying me, just as soon as he removes all trace of the seven books he stole from me to train his LLM, and makes it unlearn them. Oh, he can't do that? Then fucking pay up.
Adding this to the ever-growing pile of evidence supporting the position that AI scraping isn't fair use. Because if you're willing to pay sometimes, you shouldn't get to just take the stuff you don't think is worth paying for.
Sharing this again because it makes me happy.

It's dizzying to think about how easily and noiselessly you can be plucked from your life and entered into a system built to manufacture the justification of your murder and no amount of love or evidence, no visibility, no mobilization of a community formed under your name can save you
