FFS, it irks me when people do that. I mean, you've had some controversial opinions and kicked a few hornets nests in your time. But even when I don't agree with them, they're your opinions and they're totally valid. And when they're the most controversial is when I get to see from a new PoV.

At this point, dunking on Google's AI for bad/wrong/hilarious summaries is almost too easy, but I came across this one last night, and I love it 1/4

A screenshot of a google search for "parachute effectiveness". The AI Overview includes a section where it says that a "2018 randomized controlled trail found that parachutes did not reduce the risk of death of major injury when jumping from an airplane."

Howabout instead of burning down the Internet Archive, we burn down OpenAI and its planet destroying plagiarism machines that will cause apocalyptic job losses in the millions because they will be left completely unchecked.

Nate Silver referring to ChatGPT as his "creative muse" in bookwriting is the perfect example of what people with a limited ability to express themselves expect ChatGPT to do for themā€”and is 100% what ChatGPT cannot deliver.
