We don't know how she'd have grown up if she'd had a life to live, he makes her awkward, a little haunted, independent and intelligent, but many of those things are close to himself. She might have been someone different. The charlie in the games feels different. 🧵9/9

The silver eyes is not a story about Charlotte ultimately, it's a story about Henry and how he created something. Is that something alive? Is it a monster? Is it a fragment of his soul? I personally think there is little of the "true" Charlotte in there. 🧵8/9

Henry remembers the moment with the crow, Henry remembers working in his room. Elizabeth has authentic memories of her father because she does appear to be resident within that machine, but we are never sure Charlotte ever was. How important was the ragdoll to /her/? 🧵7/9

Charlotte, Henry's daughter becomes lost in this emotional energy, what we see is HENRY. This is why Charlie can remember moments Henry was involved in, but we don't see her remember anything authentic or real from the original Charlotte. 🧵6/9

The original ragdoll was important to Charlie and represents that "original" Charlie that in the novels becomes lost. The Ella doll is Henry's energy and emotions, it is something he created artificially. The Charliebots are also Henry, he decided how she would grow up. 🧵5/9

The difference in materials is interesting. The ragdoll is made of cotton or wool potentially, both soft and organic. The animatronic is made of metal, inorganic materials. The Charliebots are also inorganic. There ends up being three layers involved in their body but only one was ever living. 🧵4/9

The ragdoll in the novel is described as a "cheap store-bought rag doll" that Henry cried over. it is made of fabric and slumps bonelessly in a chair. The animatronic is described as "realistic" with stiff functional limbs, it is made of metal and capable of actions. 🧵3/9

The fandom often blurs these two distinct objects together as in a truly unhinged decision, they are drawn exactly the same in the graphic novel, contrary to the descriptions in the books themselves. 🧵2/9
