megumi is just an innocent victim in all this. megumi, who was born out of so much love and hope, who will never get to know it, bc there's no one around who even knows anymore. they can heal his other traumas, but never the earliest ones, to let him know that he's always been loved from the start
mamaguro died and toji loved her sm, and he couldn't shoulder the weight of his own curses without her. it's not that toji dgaf about megumi, but he couldn't love him enough to win against his own demons without mamaguro, while megumi just thought he'd never cared.
toji is not winning best dad of the year, but for someone who'd gone through his literal hell of a childhood to go and name their child a "blessing," in a world full of curses -- there was just so much love. and it's another tragic story of how life can go to shit and spiral out of control that
sometimes i think abt how tsumiki remembers more of toji than megumi ever will. unbeknownst to megumi, shadows of toji's presence are everywhere in his life. it makes sense that megumi doesn't care about toji from his perspective, but the fushiguros are another example of how love is a twisted curse
