Went and saw The Wild Robot with my husband to get out of the heat. What a great animated film with some really good themes. Definitely worth a theater visit too.

I honestly almost gave up before the first hour was through. I knew it would eventually open up and it did and got marginally more fun/interesting but man…that first hour is an absolutely unnecessary slog…

Every time this happens I’m tempted to sit right next to these jerks and put the most annoying music I can think of on blast, just switch to the Peppa pig theme song on repeat and crank that volume.

Went and saw “My Old Ass” with Aubrey Plaza and rising star Maisey Stella last night. What a great movie. Admittedly I predicted one of the bigger twists in the movie, but it didn’t make the whole message and narrative any less impactful. I liked that it was queer in a modern way.

You would think that we as humans would have learned valuable lessons about the need for a sense of community and building trust with people after the pandemic, but instead we all took the wrong lessons from it. I feel more isolated in the world at large than I ever have when I was younger.

Honestly I think seeing it from behind is its absolutely worst angle. Like Elon Musk’s backside as a truck bumper.
