I’m not going to shed any tears for Nasrallah, but statements from Washington that praise Israel for killing him and completely ignore the wider consequences of this assassination for the region and the world just seem deeply unhelpful to me.

We like to look down our noses at rival clubs now owned by petro-families, but - but for the Grace of God (or Kroenke) - there we would probably have gone sooner or later, too.

I suspect there’s now almost a feeling of satisfaction among fans that the club is owned by a US billionaire and not a Middle Eastern autocracy. However silly that is. Kroenke was almost pipped to owning Arsenal by Alisher Usmanov, the Russian metals magnate (hardly a ‘fit and proper person.’)
